Holden & Holden Designs worked closely with us to design and craft a traditionally-styled crozier,
incorporating symbols culturally relevant to the people of Hawai'i. This project needed to be completed by a firm deadline and
Holden & Holden Designs was attentive to the timelines involved as well. Perhaps the strongest testimony to the quality of the design
and craftsmanship is that three other bishops, both from the Mainland USA, subsequently had Holden & Holden Designs design and create
Bishop Richard W. Lipka Diocese of the Hawaiian Islands (ICCEC)
"The eagle, which Holden & Holden Designs created for us, is one of our great treasures. The details are
exquisitely accomplished. No one who has viewed the carving has recognized that its subtle coloring results from the nine different
woods used rather than any kind of paint. We consider the eagle to be a work of art of the highest order."

"Having worked next to Holden Wood Design aka Holden & Holden Designs for several years, I had an opportunity to
observe many bird carvings and the attention to detail. Wanting something a little different, I am pleased to have a marionette of the same
order... a piece that will be enjoyed by my family for generations."

"Holden Wood Design dba Holden & Holden Designs was a key ingredient of the Waikiki Historic Trail's
success. Given the task of recreating an authentic wooden surfboard, they first investigated the Bishop Museum Surfboard Archive
with the Trail Team and successfully recreated a wood model that was used for the Trail markers' bronze casts. The wooden surfboard
was a real work of art, beautiful in form and finish. Thanks to Bob and Rita, the Trail surfboard markers are awe-inspiring."
Charles H. Palumbo, Architect Waikiki Historic Trail Facilitator
"Holden & Holden Designs is a frequent winner in the annual 'Hawaii's Wood Show' which HFIA sponsors.
HHD definitely deserves the honors!"
Andrea Gill, Executive Director Hawai'i Forest Industry Association
"Holden & Holden Designs has been very supportive of Hawaii Opera Theatre. It is no surprise that their last
two donations to our Opera Balls silent auction sold for over value as they were one-of-a-kind pieces designed especially for Hawaii Opera
Theatre. Guests of the ball truly appreciated their charm and workmanship.
"I personally have purchased several of the nene geese, as they make wonderful gifts. They are made entirely of Hawaiian woods and
are elegant reproductions of our state bird... perfect gift of aloha!"
